In case you haven't noticed, BMS loves celebrations. And we especially love ones that honor members of our community who have given so much of themselves that their contributions outlive them. Jerome Brown was one of those people. In his all too short life he demonstrated we could all come together in our love for Brooksville. He also proved being a talented celebrity professional athlete doesn't need to change who you are as a person or how you treat those around you.
Jerome meant so much to Brooksville we built the Jerome Brown Community Center in Tom Varn Park in 2000 and the Jerome Brown Youth Foundation continues its work to this day under the leadership of Tim Jinkens.
Join us on February 1st at 3 PM at Brooksville City Hall as we celebrate the life and legacy of Jerome, a Brooksvillian who continues to model the beauty of community brotherliness and unity, with a mural created by Lakeema Matthew
